The State Legislature

 Today we had an amazing time going to the State Congress to meet with some Representatives and watch the Senate in Session. This has probably been my favorite part of the trip so far, and the State House is beautiful, with extravagant architecture. I loved talking with the two Republican Reps who agreed to come in and take our questions, even though they were on furlough. They did a great job of talking with us and really helped us understand House procedure. They even talked to us about some recent legislation they were working on. After they spoke to us, we had the privilege of sitting in during a Senate Session. It was a bit hard to tell what was going on, but it was definitely so interesting to watch. After that we, of course, hit the gift shop before we left!
